After the latest update of Bbdoc’s comparison chart, DivxTest is now officially closing the test session based on the first generation CD (v1).

The CD under its current shape is over : it is one year old (more or less) and the time has come to replace it by a new version. Those who read us regularly and follow the discussions on MPC know that the new specifications are almost fixed and the encoding job has started (thanks to Sagittaire !).

We now started a latency period (1 or 2 monthes, quite difficult to estimate) after which the v2 will be released. We do apologize in advance if we cannot hold this expectation, but in the « worst » case the v2 would be ready right after the summer holiday.

Of course the v1 tests stay online, and the CD (latest release v1.1) can still be downloaded as it remains a useful tool for anyone wishing to test his new player.

Until V2 is out, we will not consider any new test,

exept for correcting real big mistakes. Those who still want to share their results on our English boards, you’re welcome to do so... for Glory and Fame ! ;)

We take the opportunity of this new step towards the v2 to thank all participants : our very early fans, those who helped building and distributing the v1, all testers who spent their time sharing their results and our anonymous readers, who all helped us to make this project known.
